The snowbirds are coming back in flocks; the air is full of excitement. Rotary
Club of Delray Beach is abuzz with so many wonderful events/projects happening.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

font-family:Arial'>Your Board of Directors/members met at 7:30 a. m. today, at
Ellie’s Diner, led by our illustrious president, Kurt Godfrey. Decisions
were made; others are in the “working.”<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face=Arial><span style='font-size:12.0pt;
font-family:Arial'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face=Arial><span style='font-size:12.0pt;
font-family:Arial'>At noon, President Godfrey stepped to the podium to once
again lead a dynamic Rotary meeting. Sam Altdoerffer, with his excellent
singing voice, led us in some of our favorite songs, paying tribute to our
Veterans. All veterans were asked to stand; we had about a dozen proud men to
stand to a round of applause. Leo Phillips gave an invocation, also thanking
God for our veterans, and present troops.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face=Arial><span style='font-size:12.0pt;
font-family:Arial'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><st1:PersonName w:st="on"><font size=3 face=Arial><span
style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial'>Harvey Brown</span></font></st1:PersonName><font
face=Arial><span style='font-family:Arial'> had the pleasure of reminiscing for
a moment about his father, who was one of Delray’s “war
heroes,” along with some of our other members. <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">Harvey</st1:place></st1:City> took a moment to mention his passion,
our space program. He had the pleasure of seeing yet another rocket, the size
of a 23-story building; lift off into space, carrying a satellite that will
perform more technology for our “ever shrinking” world. He
welcomed Oswald Wertz, from <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Germany</st1:place></st1:country-region>.
Lorraine Weingest had her business associate Tom Virden as her guest today.
She is to be inducted next week. We are looking forward to the induction of
Fire Chief David Jones, and Becky Woodbridge in the near future.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

Barbara, generously donated $100.00 to our club, in honor of Bruce
Wenzel’s 80<sup>th</sup> birthday, in October. (Bruce, you sure are
getting a lot of mileage out of that birthday). A couple of weeks ago, Wally
and Jean Dowd sent $100.00 in honor of his birthday. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

was up 175 points at the time of his report. Oil was down to $91.50; gold
prices are dropping. Fred also collected $187.00, serving as Sergeant at Arms.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Boca Raton</st1:City></st1:place>, thanked the ten-member
crew that helped him on Saturday to install the irrigation lines for a home
they are building for a family in the area. (The pictures were sent out a few
days ago.) These people worked hard and really looked “stylish” in
their yellow “Rotarian at Work” T-shirts. We all need one of these
shirts, and put them to use in one of our next projects. (Price: $10.00)<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

w:st="on">High School</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>, where she is in the IB
Program. She aspires to attend UF, to earn a degree in Spanish Language and
Literature. She has a plethora of extracurricular activities, awards and
honors. Her proud father and mother, Matthew and Esther Adams attended. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

Jacqueline Bronkie. She has been teaching 14 years; seven of them at <st1:place

w:st="on">High School</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>. She teaches the final year
in the International Baccalaureate Spanish Program. Her quote: “Most
important of all, I am who I am today because I was the recipient of a Rotarian
Ambassadorial Scholarship from the State of <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">Wisconsin</st1:place></st1:State> in 1974, to pursue graduate
studies in Spanish. I went to <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Bogota</st1:City>,
<st1:country-region w:st="on">Colombia</st1:country-region></st1:place>, and
it was a life altering experience. I stayed ten years and became fluent in
Spanish, which I now speak without a <st1:place w:st="on">Wisconsin</st1:place>
accent….”<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

CFP, Vice President, Wealth Strategist – Northern Trust, <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">Delray Beach</st1:place></st1:City>. Chris has over 10 years of
experience in the investment business, including wealth management and private
equity. He works with both families and institutions as a financial advisor
and planner. He received an M. B. A. degree from the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType> of <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Southern
California</st1:PlaceName></st1:place> with Beta Gamma Sigma honors. He also
earned a B. A. degree in Economics from <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Middlebury</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">College</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>,
where he was an All-American Lacrosse player. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
